"this drawing app is the coolest yet at  what project tango can do." - gizmodo

I was asked to help on a pitch for something wild from Google ATAP (now Google X). It’s called Project Tango: it uses computer vision to enable mobile devices, such as smartphones and tablets, to detect their position relative to the world around them without using GPS or other external signals, a new ground-breaking technology in augmented reality. The pitch went well and won the business. I was brought on as the full-time Creative Director leading the creative vision for Google's new Augmented Reality technology.

I worked with a small team of designers and unity developers to help produce the Project Tango Augmented Reality demo apps. The goal of the Space Sketchr demo app was to create a visual connection of how you interact with devices using motion tracking and depth sensing within a 3d space. I lead concept, design, UI, and even filmed behind the scenes footage by building a GoPro rig to capture the tablet in action. I'm happy to say that this AR app was one of the first to be crowned worthy as an official Android Experiment.

"SOUNDFIELD DEMO SHOWS PROJECT TANGO'S AUDIO POTENTIAL." - SLASHGEAR

We created a VR/AR audio experience that responds to your position while tracking motion using the gyroscope and accelerometer. We actually got a meeting with Radiohead's manager with this demo app. I worked with a Unity developer and front end dev to produce this little gem.

"this is really cool." - everyone at gdc 2015

What better way to get people to understand motion tracking and depth sensing technology than to throw in a few rogue aliens and some cute dumpy little unsuspecting cows. In this demo app, you to move around a virtual planet and try to save cows and by tapping on alien spaceships to defeat them. We created a game to better understand this new technology and it's potential. These demo apps were developed using Google's Project Tango SDK. Download here
